A blue robotic cat with a magical pocket, a boy who always lands in trouble, a brilliant class topper, a rich friend who loves showing off, and a strong boy with a terrible singing voice—Doraemon has one of the most memorable groups of cartoon characters ever created.

The Japanese manga and anime series follows Doraemon, a robot cat sent from the 22nd century to help Nobita Nobi improve his life and future. Nobita struggles with school and confidence. Shizuka represents kindness and responsibility. Gian may be intimidating but can also be brave. Suneo loves attention and expensive things, while Doraemon plays the role of the dependable friend who tries to keep everyone out of trouble.

The stories also show that even imperfect characters can remain close friends. They argue, compete and sometimes annoy each other, but when a serious problem appears, they often work together.

That combination of friendship, futuristic gadgets, school life, family moments and adventure has made Doraemon and its characters popular with children across generations.
