1. Jackie Chan
Jackie Chan is the main hero of the cartoon. In the animated story, he is an archaeologist and highly skilled martial artist living in San Francisco.
Jackie would prefer a peaceful life studying ancient objects, but his knowledge of archaeology regularly pulls him into dangerous missions. Captain Black recruits him to help Section 13 stop the Dark Hand from collecting magical Talismans.
Jackie’s fighting style depends on speed, clever movements and using nearby objects in creative ways. Although he constantly tells Jade to stay away from danger, she usually finds a way to join him.
James Sie provided Jackie’s regular animated voice, while the real Jackie Chan appeared in live-action segments associated with the show.
2. Jade Chan
Jade Chan is Jackie’s energetic young niece and one of the show’s most popular characters.
Jade is adventurous, confident and extremely curious. If Jackie tells her to remain somewhere safe, viewers can almost guarantee that she will find a way into the adventure.
She is clever and often notices things that adults miss. Although her actions sometimes create problems, Jade has also helped Jackie defeat enemies many times.
Her fearless personality makes her much more than simply Jackie’s sidekick.
3. Uncle
Known simply as Uncle, he is Jackie’s elderly uncle and Jade’s great-uncle.
Uncle owns an antique shop in San Francisco’s Chinatown and is an expert in Chi magic. His knowledge becomes especially important whenever Jackie faces demons, cursed objects or other supernatural enemies.
He can be impatient and frequently gives Jackie several instructions at once. His habit of suddenly remembering “one more thing” became one of the cartoon’s best-known running jokes.
Behind his strict personality, however, Uncle is deeply protective of his family.
4. Tohru
Tohru begins the series as a powerful enforcer working for the Dark Hand.
His huge size and physical strength make him a dangerous opponent. However, after the events of the first season, Tohru changes sides and joins the Chan family.
He eventually becomes Uncle’s apprentice and begins learning good Chi magic. His transformation from enemy to dependable friend gives Tohru one of the most interesting character journeys in the series.
5. Captain Augustus Black
Captain Black is Jackie’s old friend and the leader of Section 13, a secret government organisation.
He brings Jackie into the battle against the Dark Hand and provides equipment, agents and intelligence during important missions.
At first, Captain Black is doubtful about supernatural forces. Meeting creatures such as Shendu soon changes his opinion.
He becomes an important ally of Jackie, Jade and Uncle throughout the series.
Main Villains in Jackie Chan Adventures
6. Shendu
Shendu is one of the most famous villains in Jackie Chan Adventures.
He is an ancient demon dragon connected to the twelve magical Talismans. Each Talisman provides a different supernatural ability, making the search for them a major part of the first season.
Shendu is intelligent, dangerous and constantly searches for ways to restore his power.
7. Valmont
Valmont is the sophisticated but ruthless leader of the criminal organisation known as the Dark Hand.
He commands several enforcers and becomes involved in the hunt for the Talismans while working with Shendu.
Unlike the supernatural villains, Valmont mainly relies on criminal planning, money and his organisation.
8. Finn, Ratso and Chow
Finn, Ratso and Chow are three recurring Dark Hand enforcers.
They frequently carry out Valmont’s plans and repeatedly encounter Jackie during missions. Their plans do not always work as expected, which makes the trio an important source of comedy as well as danger.
9. Hak Foo
Hak Foo is an exceptionally strong martial artist known for announcing dramatic names for his attacks.
He initially appears as an opponent of Jackie and works alongside several villains. His confidence, strength and unusual fighting cries make him one of the show’s most recognisable fighters.
Other Important Characters

She later becomes one of Jackie’s allies and a member of the wider group sometimes known as the J-Team.

Although proud of his reputation, he is honourable and becomes one of Jackie’s trusted allies. His young fan Paco frequently accompanies him.
12. Daolon Wong
Daolon Wong is an evil Chi wizard and one of Uncle’s major magical enemies.
While Uncle uses good Chi magic, Daolon Wong uses dark magic. This makes their battles as much about magical knowledge as physical fighting.
13. Tarakudo
Tarakudo is the powerful king of the Shadowkhan and a major villain during the storyline involving magical Oni masks.
The masks can summon different groups of Shadowkhan warriors, creating a new supernatural threat for Jackie and his friends.

Like his father, Drago is connected with demonic powers. His appearance expands the story beyond Shendu and introduces another dangerous enemy for the Chan family.
