Dileep is an Indian actor, film producer and entrepreneur who primarily works in Malayalam cinema. His birth name is Gopalakrishnan Padmanabhan. He was born to Padmanabhan Pillai and Sarojam and spent his early years in Kerala.
He studied at Vidyadhiraja Vidya Bhavan School in Aluva and later attended Union Christian College. Dileep completed a degree in history from Maharaja’s College in Ernakulam. During his college years, he became interested in stage performances and mimicry.
Dileep began his professional journey as a mimicry artist. He gained attention through stage programmes, comedy audio productions and television shows. He later worked as an assistant director with filmmaker Kamal, which gave him valuable experience in different areas of filmmaking.
He began appearing in films during the early 1990s. His performances in movies such as Sallapam, Ee Puzhayum Kadannu, Punjabi House and Meesa Madhavan helped him become a leading actor in Malayalam cinema. His natural presentation and ability to perform a variety of characters earned him a wide audience.
Dileep has appeared in more than 150 films, including Kalyanaraman, C.I.D. Moosa, Runway, Chakkaramuthu, Bodyguard, Two Countries and Ramaleela. About Kavya Madhavan
Kavya Madhavan is an Indian actress, classical dancer, singer and lyricist known mainly for her work in Malayalam cinema. She was born to P. Madhavan and Shyamala Madhavan in Nileshwaram. Her interest in dance and performance began during childhood.
Kavya entered cinema as a child artist in the 1991 Malayalam film Pookkalam Varavayi. She continued appearing in supporting roles before making her debut as a leading actress in Chandranudikkunna Dikkil in 1999.
She established herself through films such as Meesa Madhavan, Thilakkam, Runway, Perumazhakkalam, Anandabhadram, Classmates, Gaddama and Vellaripravinte Changathi. Kavya and Dileep appeared together in numerous films and became a recognised screen pair in Malayalam cinema.
Kavya received the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actress for her performances in Perumazhakkalam and Gaddama. Her performance in Gaddama also earned her the Filmfare Award for Best Actress – Malayalam.
